We recently sat down with Alex Freed, the lead writer on Star Wars The Old Republic to find out what kind of a challenge faced by the teams at Bioware and LucasArts. It turns out that it was a huge, huge, challenge.
"I've been with the project since essentially the beginning. And it is still a scary thing!" said Alex before telling is exactly how scary.
"It's by far the largest writing project the industry has ever done. It's one of the largest writing projects mankind has ever done. It's enormous, it's a privilege to be part of it and it's very strange to be releasing this thing after all these years."
Big words. But there are also figures to go with it. Well, on big figure: "Roughly sixty man-years of writing..." that's a lot of keyboard slamming.
Full interview, carried out by the inestimable Michael Fox, will be up later.
