Alan Wake American Nightmare Inspiration Leaves Stephen King - Moves to Tarantino
From Dusk 'Til Dawn is a reference for new Remedy Wake outing...
Alan Wake's next adventure may well be an American Nightmare, but this time around it won't be Stephen King who is the leading influence. Apparently it's the likes of Quentin Tarantino.
According to Xbox World magazine the game, "draws thematic and narrative inspiration from pulp action-adventures such as From Dusk 'Til Dawn and other Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez material."
That said, it's also pointed out that it is, "significantly bigger than any episode of the original game."
Developer Remedy's head of franchise development, Oskari Häkkine also points out that, "After we were done with Alan Wake, our team started improving the engine and experimenting with ideas that came up during development.
"Pretty soon we had this adrenaline-fuelled arcade action game with hectic combat and scoreboards, and the team were competing against each other - we kept adding to it and it kept getting better. Before long it started looking like a perfect fit for Live Arcade."
