The title of Brandan McNamara's new project has been revealed, and it might require a couple of censorship stars on the front cover when it gets released - Whore of the Orient.Film maker George Miller acquired the rights to the game and his company, Kennedy Miller Mitchell Interactive, will develop it with the help of former employees of shuttered studio Krome and Team Bondi.
The name is more than just a man wanting to cause a fuss by slapping a swear word in a game title, though. It comes from a phrase describing Chinese city Shanghai - "whore of the Orient, Paris of the East." It might also have a little bit to do with a man wanting to cause a fuss.
McNamara hinted at the game some time ago, saying it was "one of the great untold stories of the twentieth century." Even now, no real details have been disclosed about the nature of the game. Given the style of
LA Noire though, we wouldn't be surprised if it emphasised story-driven gameplay.
