Sega of Japan has revealed a portable version of its failed Dreamcast console that can be worn on the wrist.
Dreamcast fans are a strange bunch. Feeling strong kinship with fans of Neo Geo, PC Engine and other failed-but-good hardware, the DC boys know their place, and love it.
Nowhere does the Dreamcast have as loyal a following as it does in Japan, where Sega devotees were reported to have eaten their consoles in protest at the hardware being withdrawn.
Sega hopes to pacify its fans with its latest offering in the Dreamcast range, the Dreamcast Wristwatch. It’s a watch, erm, that’s shaped like a Dreamcast! It won’t play Shenmue 2, or Headhunter, but can tell you the time. Which is practical.
Made of 100% brass and costing around £55, it’s available in Japan and might even make our own fair shores soon.
