Blimey, that one came out of nowhere – Warner Brothers has announced that a new version of splendid little puzzler Scribblenauts is available on iOS devices as of right now.
Previously only out on the DS, Scrbblenauts Remix takes puzzles from the two original games, as well as throwing in a few new ones exclusive to the iOS version. Players take control of Maxwell, a chicken-hatted chap who's looking for little pieces of Starite by summoning pretty much anything you can think of. Starite up in the tree? Summon a ladder and climb it. If you're boring, that is.
Why not make a trampoline and bounce into the tree? Or get a cannon and shoot the Starite down to the ground? Perhaps get a giant hawk to swoop from the skies and lift you up? With the enhanced description system from Super Scribblenauts players can now use adjectives as well as nouns meaning that stuff like an "angry swarm of giant bees" or "flying rainbow unicorn" are now possible.
Sure, the original DS versions have a couple of issues; not everything you decide to do works, but it's a charming puzzle game that – at only £3 – is worth checking out.
