Valve is yet again banging on about the possibility of Steam coming to the Xbox 360. In an interview with Develop, Chet Faliszek has suggested that the decision to not roll out the service lies entirely with Microsoft. However, he has hinted that something is in the pipeline; according to him "There’s some things going on with Portal 2 right now, but we’ll see."Valve has always seen Steam as a constantly updating service, pushing out updates to games as frequently as they're coded. This goes against the Microsoft rulebook where additional content for games is chargeable aside from a maximum of one free DLC update per game – and even that has to be fought for.
Steam already runs on PS3 to a degree, also through
Portal 2, but not to the degree that users on PC are used to. However, Gabe Newell remains positive, saying that Sony has "done the scary thing and I think it’s up to us to make sure Sony and its customers are rewarded ". That the company has made the leap to get involved with Valve is a huge step but the interview with Faliszek suggests that not all in rosy with their relationship.
The incremental updates that Steam is known for are, as yet, unavailable through PS3 and it seems that for the time being we'll not be receiving them. Faliszek remains positive though, saying "There’s some big changes that still need to go through, so we’ll have to see, we’re open to that and it’d be cool idea but we’re just going to have to wait.”

full interview is available here, with Faliszek also covering the new
Counter Strike: Global Offensive, the world of Steam and even a bit of cross-platform play.
