Ben There, Dan That! Special Edition Now Available
No conflict of interest here, no siree.
Indie Games! They are often very good indeed and one that has popped up on our radar is the rather charming new version of Ben There, Dan That! This ace little point and click adventure has now been remixed, had a pile of bonus content added and is currently available on Steam as a pay-what-you-like deal.
In the words of Dan Marshall from Size Five Games, "We’ve George Lucased it right up." With the addition of new music and a swathe of graphical improvements, a brand new introduction and a general bit of spit and polish throughout, it's a worthy download for fans of old-school gaming. The full list of extras is below:
- A 16-page eBook detailing the Special Edition's creation called “Lowering the Tone”
- All the additional music that didn’t make it into the final game.
- Posters to print out and hang over your living room window, or to slap on your desktop.
- A never-before-heard audio recording of Ben stomping around his flat cheering his own name for the ending sequence.
- Dan and Ben ringtones
There's also a video storybook presentation "lifted from Dan and Bens’ diary entries, explaining the backstory as to exactly how Dan wound up dead in a jungle tied to a length of twine in the first place". SPOnG reckons you should listen carefully to this... you may hear a familiar voice.
