The Tokyo Game Show news truck keeps rolling on. This time it's Sony's turn and, as you'd expect, the focus was heavily on Vita. Two builds of the new handheld will be available, a wifi-only model at 24,980 (£206) and a 3G version at 29, 980 (£247), with the confirmed release date for Japan set at December 17th.

Of course, a system lives and dies by the games we get to play and there were several highlights announced. Square Enix titles got a huge push, led by a tenth anniversary version of Final Fantasy X (alongside a HD remix for PS3), plus new titles Lord of Apocalypse and the charming sounding Army Corps of Hell. Capcom also confirmed Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 so fans of fighters won't be left out.

HD versions of Zone of the Enders and Metal Gear Solid were also promised for Vita, accompanying the versions we already knew about for PS3. Cross platform save systems were confirmed, as were the rumours that Hideo Kojima is working on a brand new title for for both PS3 and Vita. As to what this could be... well, they weren't saying.

What Sony definitely said was that there would be over 100 games available for their new system by March next year. Quite the feat if they pull it off, especially considering the list includes new games from the Gundam, Super Robot Taisen and Shin Megami Tensei series.

News from the PS3 side was a little lacking, the FFXHD surprise being the high point. New characters were revealed for Street Fighter vs Tekken. FFXIII-2 was again confirmed for December (which we already knew) and MGS Peace Walker HD will be available as a separate title. Aside from that, there wasn't too much... but we'll dig for more and let you know what we find.
