Australia Bans House of the Dead Overkill Extended Cut
House of the Dead: Overkill Extended Cut has been refused classification in Australia.

The PS3 update to the on-rails zombie shooter includes improved graphics and several bonus features, including two new gameplay scenarios. The Australian Classification Database marks the game down as 'RC' - Refused Classification - effectively banning the game in the country.

All this is despite the fact that the Australian government is promising a new R18+ classification for video games. Seems it can't come quickly enough. It appears that SEGA had submitted a 'Modified' version of the game for the Australian Classification Board's consideration too, so we wonder what exactly it was that was deemed too questionable for adult tastes.

In May 2008, the original House of the Dead Overkill on Wii was handed an MA15+ rating.

I feel sorry for Australian gamers as their laws on video game classification is just down-right prehistoric to be honest..

For the sake of gamers in Australia, I hope this new R18 Classification happens ASAP! I mean seriously... House of the dead overkill?! really?! That is pathetic..
