Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has announced that it will be releasing a budget range for PlayStation 2.
Called Mega Hits Series, the first games to be included will be Tekken Tag, Onimusha and Gran Turismo 3, undeniably the machine’s killer apps to date. The price point has been set at 4,000 yen, or about 23 of your English pounds.
The games come out mid-December in Japan, to the delight of retail bundlers and gamers alike.
This move has been expected for some time now, and shows Sony is far from losing its savvy. As the company looks over its shoulder at the advancing armies of Nintendo and Microsoft, it has shown true form, as it did prior to the Nintendo 64’s release with their established Platinum range.
A repeat of this in the UK is guaranteed!
