Codemasters: Stuart Black's Departure Hasn't Affected Bodycount
Bodycount's art director, Max Cant, has told SPOnG that Stuart Black's departure from Codemasters has not affected the game's development.

Black had been working on Bodycount as creative director before he left to join City Interactive in late 2010. It was an amicable split, but Bodycount was a title that very much had Black's stamp on it. Cant said that the core of the game hasn't changed and is continuing the vision he set out.

"I think Stu' deserves a large amount of credit for what we’ve put together here. His departure hasn’t directly affected the core of the gameplay - we had already stuck our stake in the sand in regards to that," he said in an interview with SPOnG, published today.

"So if you look at the E3 footage from a year and a bit ago, it’s still pretty much the same game as that today. We’ve added certain elements to it, but certainly from an art direction side of things I’ve not changed anything at all.

"I guess it comes down to the fact that a game is more than just a single person, but I’ve worked with Stuart on [Criterion's 2006 FPS] Black as well, and no doubt I’ll see him in the future. I wish him all the best for all the stuff he’s doing at City, I hope it works out for him."
