Chalk this one up as just plain weird. Freddy Krueger, the dream-invading murderer from A Nightmare on Elm Street, is arriving as a playable character in Mortal Kombat on the 9th August.
The claw-wielding slasher is the fourth and final downloadable for the rebooted fighting franchise, alongside Skarlet, Kenshi and Rain. A trailer (courtesy IGN) shows off the moves, X-Rays and fatalities that can be pulled off when you don the hat and striped sweater. It doesn't look like you'll be playing like the classic Robert Eglund, but 2010 Freddy is just as menacing, right?
Past DLC characters have cost around 400 Microsoft Points ($4.99 on PSN), so expect similar pricing for Krueger here.
