Did you have a bit of a fit when you realised that Altaïr Ibn la-Ahad got a bit of a dodge ending in the first Assassin's Creed game? Well, rage no more because Ubisoft Montreal's writer Darby McDevitt has promised that the upcoming Revelations will give Altaïr's story "a proper conclusion.""In order to wake up, Desmond [Miles, the comatose present-day assassin that controls the past-time protagonists] must fix his fragmented mind by living through key moments in history in search of an alignment between himself, Ezio [Auditore] and Altaïr," McDevitt said.
"This key moment, this nexus, is the way out of his comatose state, so he will have to navigate his subconscious in order to escape." The writer explained that the studio had an opportunity to highlight Ezio's leadership issues as a contrast to Altaïr's experience as a mentor. Which sounds like a good way of talking your way out of naffing up the ending to
Assassin's Creed really, but then McDevitt is a bit more acknowledging.
"We are just as fond of Altaïr as many of the fans are, and have always lamented the fact that his story did not get a proper conclusion. So this is it. If you, like so many others, are dying to know what happened to Altaïr when he returned to the Apple for 'one last look' - as the final page of his codex states - you will have your answers soon."
