Namco deep into production of an Xbox version of Soul Calibur 2

All games on all format seems to be the way forward for indies

It has come to light that Namco is hard at work at an Xbox version of Soul Calibur 2, a game previously thought to be GameCube exclusive.

Reportedly, the game is about 30% complete and is being produced by the same team, alongside the GameCube version.

The original Soul Calibur on the Dreamcast was one of the best looking and fluid fighters ever seen when it was unleashed in 1999. The next generation sequel will have all the original characters, a new storyline and several new fighters for all your violent needs.

This just shows that publishers cannot make their minds up as to where to place their games. There is no game at this point, other than first and second party titles, that is eternally exclusive to any platform. This is a good thing and should prove the console war conclusively.

A release date has not yet been specified for either version of Soul Calibur 2
