In the week that saw the launch of Team Bondi and Rockstar's L.A. Noire was released the UK's games sales totalled £24 million with 876,986 games were sold at retail according to MCV.

Of that figure, L.A. Noire itself generated "over £10m". Yup, nearly 50% of the revenue came from a single title, and that was made in the two days it was on sale during the period assessed.

The stats are based on Gfk-Chart-Track data.

Good news all around then, because according to Christopher Dring over at MCV, "Two weeks ago just 573,506 games were sold at retail – the lowest number in almost five years."
