SOCOM Maker Zipper Interactive Lays Off Staff
Want to make games? Well, you've got to be aware that one of the mainstays of video game development is the fact that short-term or freelance contracts are very much par for the course. So, when SOCOM and MAG developer Zipper Interactive lays off 30+ staff, that's business as usual.

Kotaku states that "a Sony spokesperson confirmed layoffs at Zipper, characterizing them as "normal business practice and a result of cutting back on production resources after the launch of two major franchises." Sony would not specify how many positions were lost.

"Update: Multiple tipsters have suggested that 33 people were let go."

Business as normal - but acceptable? What are your thoughts? Tell us in the comments.
