A Batman first-person shooter is in the works at Monolith Studios, Warner Bros announced this morning. Called Gotham City Imposters, the multiplayer-focused downloadable title will be heading to Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and PC.
Warner Bros said that the game will offer an "exaggerated take" on the FPS genre, as players battle for control of a Gotham City under the guise of a Joker or Batman-inspired persona.
"Gotham City Impostors blows apart expectations for superhero games with an exaggerated take on first person shooters, set in a part of the DC Universe players have never seen before," said Samantha Ryan, senior vice president at WB's Production and Development.
"Monolith is creating a game that turns Gotham City upside down and we think fans are going to have a blast with this creative twist on multiplayer heroism and anti-heroism as they play up the classic rivalry between Batman and The Joker."
