Capcom Financials: Profits Up 248 Per Cent
Capcom's financials are in for the fiscal year 2011, and things are looking very positive indeed. Thanks to a string of worldwide hits, the publisher saw its sales up by 46 per cent on the previous year - and its profits up by a whopping 258 per cent to 7.8 billion yen (or £59 million).

PSP slash-a-thon Monster Hunter Freedom 3 was the star of the show, having shipped 4.6 million copies in Japan alone. It no doubt "played the lead role in improving Capcom's business performance," but Dead Rising 2 and Marvel vs Capcom 3 also performed above expectations with sales of 2.2 million and 2 million units respectively.

Capcom also noted 1.5 million sales of Lost Planet 2 and 1.6 million sales of Super Street Fighter IV - not too shabby, but where are the numbers for the 3DS version of Super Street Fighter IV, we wonder? Its absence is most curious.

The company's financial year ended 31st March 2011.
