PlayStation One games are now available to download from the Android mobile phone Marketplace - the only problem is, you might be hard-pushed to find a Sony Ericsson Xperia Play to actually run them.

The new gadget - rumoured for months before its official unveiling as the 'PlayStation Phone' - launched today, is the only one on the market to sport a certified console-style control pad, and allows for the integration of the PlayStation Network onto a mobile device. Part of this deal was that you could play PS1 titles on it.

And sure enough, the Android Marketplace has already been updated with Syphon Filter, Destruction Derby, Medievil, Jumping Flash and Cool Boarders 2 available for £3.99 each, in several languages.

However, VG247 reports that the Xperia Play itself has been delayed in the UK due to a "freight issue," with Vodafone, O2 and 3 holding off on launching the device and Orange going ahead with what it's got.

Has anyone managed to get one yet? How are the games? Let us know, as always, in the forum below.

From what I've read in the papers this morning, a few companies have held off from launching because of bugs and software faults.

I smell a rush job?

Could be. I'm not sure if that's because of the hardware or the software though - Android has had a recent habit of holding off software updates (like their tablet OS) due to it simply not being ready. The Xperia Play is using the ultra-latest Android OS right?

"freight issue" is correct. They got "freightened" by all the bugs in the phone...

Where did I put my coat?

Pre-ordered from T-Mobile whom I assume will ship as part of Orange but no sign of dispatch.
