Activision Taking Spider-Man to the Edge of Time
It would seem Activision's developed a taste for multiple Spider-Men and the weirder end of physics. It's just announced a new Spider-Man game - Edge of Time.

The game is due in Autumn and will come from Beenox, the developer behind last year's Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. While Shattered Dimensions offered four Spideys, we'll only get two this time - garden variety Spidey and Spider-Man 2099. The game is being written by Spidey 2099 creator and current X-Factor (the comic about mutants, not the TV show about mocking the talentless) writer Peter David.

The game has the two wall crawlers teaming up across time to prevent a catastrophic (and most likely apocalyptic) future coming to pass as a result of the early death of none other than Peter Parker.

We're told that, "The game features all-new 'cause-and-effect' gameplay, where players will see how the immediate and sometimes unexpected effects of their actions as one Spider-Man changes the timeline of the other Spider-Man."

Platforms were not announced, but expect 360 and PS3 versions at the very, very least and, most likely, all the usual suspects.

First bit of artwork's to the left. If you squint at it you can see Spidey 2099 reflected in the eyepiece.
