Crysis 2 Will Not Use EA Online Pass
Electronic Arts has been using its Online Pass to help deter pre-owned sales and drum up additional revenue from those that do buy used. But there will be one high profile EA published title that will not adopt the DLC scheme, and it's a big one - Crytek's Crysis 2.

Those who buy Crysis 2 won't be required to enter a code to enjoy online multiplayer features, or be otherwise locked out of certain modes. According to GamertagRadio, it's a decision that was made entirely on Crytek's part - the studio, as an EA Partner, has autonomy on whether it chooses to use the Online Pass.

Crytek is said to have made to decision so that it did not risk alienating any potential players to its first console game. It was added that when the time came to choose whether to use the Online Pass, the scheme was still in its infancy.

EA, for its part, has said recently that consumers aren't being deterred from the Online Pass, and in fact seem to be in favour of the scheme. So it's just a matter of preference then, right?
