Fresh Dead Island Details Emerge
You may have noticed a trailer for Techland's latest game, Dead Island, floating around the internet. It generated a fair bit of commentary. Now that the heat has died down somewhat, Deep Silver has provided some more details on the zombie-smashing game.

The game is set in an open world tropical island, with players having to complete missions with limited weapons and ammo in order to escape from the holiday 'paradise'. Up to four-player co-op is available in a drop in/drop out system. Sounds a little like Left 4 Dead to us.

Alongside the action elements, Dead Island's also going to come complete with RPG sections that will allow players to upgrade a character's abilities whilst surviving the horde. Apparently this will all be done with a dark presentation and a story inspired by classic zombie films.

The game's going to be developed by the studio's Chrome Engine 5 technology, and is hitting the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms later this year. About time, we've had it in our database since 2006 at least.
