Price War! UK Supermarket has Nintendo 3DS for £157

Loss leader or sitting on a margin?

The Savvygamer has picked up on the fact that UK uber-retailer Tesco is offering Nintendo's next generation portable... whoops, the 3DS for a remarkable £157.60.

The Tesco offer, looks genuine and is for the Aqua Blue version. It does, however, seem strange given that the Cosmos Black version comes in at £197.

The offer does, of course, signal the start of the price war between supermarket chains and game-specific retailers. Game for example is offering the 3DS for £219 no matter what the bloody colour.

Zavvi sent me an e-mail telling me that the preorder will be at their lower price point of £199 now. so i hope any further reduction will be reflected by them.
