The might of Call of Duty: Black Ops record breaking sales still couldn't raise Activision/Blizzard to the Number 1 spot in the UK for game publishers in 2010. Electronic Arts, with its sports stable, manages to hang on to that position.A set of figures revealed by MCV shows that, while 2010 saw Activision's UK sales improving due to "less discounting on
CoD than in '09'. The company does, however, go up to the Number 2 slot, taking over from a lacklustre Nintendo.
EA hangs on to the Number 1 publishers position in the UK according to MCV's maths in terms of both units sold and value gained. In terms of the latter, Ubisoft sits at Number 2. This is above both Activision/Blizzard (at 4) and Nintendo (at 3).
