Damn it, what was the point in winning the Cold War!? Looks like Cannon Fodder 3 is only going to be available in Russia.
Codemaster's Director of Communications, Rich Eddy, has revealed that the announcement made this morning simply pertains to a PC and Xbox 360 title that leverages the Cannon Fodder name. Quite how an opportunity for a homegrown sequel was missed leaves us flabbergasted, to be honest.
"Clarification on agreement with GFI re: Cannon Fodder title announced today, GFI licensed the IP for a one-off game in Russia/CIF," Eddy wrote on Twitter. Speaking of Twitter, 'Cannon Fodder' is currently a trending topic in the UK. Says loads really, doesn't it?
In a way, it's probably a good thing - the Russian project has nothing to do with old Sensible Software hand Jon Hare and it will likely fail to have the same magic as the Amiga originals. A shame.
