Castlevania: Lords of Shadow not do it for you this year? Yeah, it was a touch disappointing, wasn't it? But if rumours are to be believed, series master Koji Igarashi could be back on board for a new outing on Nintendo's 3DS.According to one
Paul Gale (of the Paul Gale Network!), Igarashi was said to be expressing great interest in the new handheld and that he's involved with several projects for it already. While he didn't mention a
Castlevania game outright, he added that he still has ideas to take the franchise further.
Konami, in the meantime, has apparently started work on the next
Castlevania game already, with artists and 3D modelers up already hard at work to "cleverly make use of the 3DS' 3D cameras."
Igarashi has been the driving force behind the series' best games, including 1997 PSOne classic
Symphony of the Night and 2009's DS adventure
Order of Ecclesia. Although his return would be quite welcome, it might be worth taking some salt with you just in case some false hope vampires start stalking you.
