Final Fantasy Versus XIII Showcased at January Fan Event
Tetsuya Nomura has teased that the first gameplay footage of Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be showcased at Square Enix's upcoming press conference in January.

The event, to take place on the 18th January at the Toho Cinemas in Roppongi, is expected to highlight Kingdom Hearts 3D, Dissidia Duodicim Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix. But Nomura told Dengeki magazine that "Fabula Nova Crystallis related titles" will be shown as well.

'Fabula Nova Crystallis' is the term used for the Final Fantasy XIII series of games - from Final Fantasy XIII itself to Agito XIII and Versus XIII, with even more unannounced games a possibility. Versus is the big ticket though, and Nomura hints that we'll be able to hear the voice of main character Noctis for the first time.

Various changes have been made to Square Enix's 2011 event in recent weeks - originally titled "Fabula Nova Crystallis Conference," it was recently renamed to "1st Production Department Premier." Which sounds a little bit cack, if we're honest.

The showcase has also changed from a press-only affair to something more fan-oriented. The Japanese Square Enix Members website has opened up registration for members to get a chance to attend, but only 300 will be invited to the two planned showings on the 18th January (18:00 and 20:00). The second showing will be streamed live on Nico Nico Video, but this will also be limited to a more reasonable 10,000 people.
