Namco Bandai Moves Development Back Home
Namco Bandai, is due to shift development duties for some of its newer titles back to home territory following recent market difficulties.

The president of the company, Shukuo Ishikawa, spoke of the decision at an interview in Tokyo yesterday. He explained that “We found the quality and development speed of titles made for us by the overseas studios to be lacking", adding that “Foreign studios can still propose and develop games, but our Japanese staff will control the process more closely.”

The developer and publisher sees over 70% of its current revenues generated in Japan and aims to increase oversees sales to half of its present total by the fiscal year ending March 31, 2016. They also reported that overseas sales for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii will experience a climb of 56% to 5.9m units by the year ending March 31st. Domestic sales, however, will see a predicted slump to 3.3m units.

What do you make of Namco Bandai shifting development of some of its formerly outsourced projects back into familiar hands? Any thoughts, feel free to post them down below.

Great news, I fear for projects like Silent Hill when they are not developed in Japan. These guys know how to make great games. I did hear a rumour that Resident Evil is going to be developed in the US. Bad idea.
