Rumours are flying around the Japanese corner of the internets that Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi is working on a futuristic robot shooter called Binary Domain, for the PS3 and Xbox 360.Users on popular message board
2ch have claimed that they have seen the contents of the latest issue of Famitsu magazine, which apparently has a pretty meaty feature on the game's reveal. In the magazine - which doesn't go on sale in Japan until Wednesday - Nagoshi is said to reveal that
Binary Domain intends to target a worldwide audience.
Set in 2080s Tokyo,
Binary Domain introduces players to a split society - that of the rich and that of the poor. Naturally, the poor side is dilapidated and crawling with robots trying to destroy the human population. It's war down there. Screens are apparently included in the article, including an image of a Buddhist monk gunning down a robot soldier in a third-person perspective.
Although it sounds too elaborate for someone to just make up, obviously take this with a large pinch of salt. SEGA has declined to comment. Guess we'll know come Wednesday, eh?
