The Arcade Edition of Super Street Fighter IV has been given a firm release date according to Japanese website Alpha Station. The release date for the game is December 16th and will see the recently updated version of the home release of
Super Street Fighter IV available to play in Japanese arcades across the land.
Players will be able to get to grips with the kung-fu twins from
Street Fighter III, Yun and Yang, as well as fourteen of the existing character roster who have experienced tweaks to their moves for the arcade release.
The games blog
Kotaku Japan speculates that additional characters will be added to
SSFIV: Arcade Edition's roster, akin to Gouki's appearance in the arcade version of the original
Street Fighter IV when that was released back in 2008.
There are no official plans for the arcade version of
SSFIV to appear overseas but arcade operators may end up importing cabs as they did with
SFIV when that came out.
Would you like to see
SSFIV: Arcade Edition in your local arcade someday (although admittedly they are few and far between in the UK these days). Or are you crossing your fingers in the hopes that a DLC update will be released for the home version of
SSFIV sometime next year? Any thoughts, feel free to post them down below.
