UPDATE: Time-Limited NFS: Hot Pursuit Demo Details
--- UPDATE ---

We've heard back from an EA spokesperson who responded to our question: "Does it mean that if I've got the demo, it expires on the 9th of November?" as follows:

"I’m under the assumption that this is the case."

--- END UPDATE ---

EA has confirmed details for the demos of the Criterion-developed Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. But it's only for a limited period because the 'Demo ends on November 9, 2010'.

The details:

Xbox 360 Marketplace: October 26th world-wide.
PlayStation Network: October 27th in North America. October 27 in Europe.

We're trying to clarify with EA what exactly, "Demo Ends November 9th" means.

The demo uses the Autolog social networking system that, "makes personalised recommendations to gamers based on what their friends have been playing."

The press blah, however, is rather cringeworthy, "Autolog is a brilliantly simple feature that challenges each player to set the best race time amongst their friends. Play alone and reign supreme against the game's AI or invite just one friend to join, and unlock a second track in the demo. Playing with friends or frenemies, players kick off an addictive competitive loop where the compulsion to be the best and earn bragging rights is irresistible."

At least we know that on first looks, that the game itself is far, far less obnoxious than the marketing.

The retail game will be available on November 16 in North America and on November 18 and 19 in Europe on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and PC.

I thought Euro PSN updated on a Thursday (as in, 28th Oct)
Anyways, better get the decorating finished before or the wife won't be happy about the half-painted house while I'm sat on my arse playing the demo.
