THQ Bigs Up a Nintendo Surge at Xmas
The marketing director of THQ UK, John Rooke, has said in a recent interview he is fully confident that the markets for Nintendo's Wii and DS will bounce back this Christmas season, mirroring the sales performance over the same period last year.

Rooke also echoed the comments made by THQ CEO Brian Farrell regarding seeing the Wii as more of a toy than a traditional games machine. He added that:

"It's one of those challenges that everyone forgets - what's happened before. The Wii is behaving a bit more like a toy - people get it out at Christmas, start playing with it again."

Rooke talked of the seasonality of the Wii and how that will play a big part in another boom period for the consoles as families across the UK power up their machines once again for some festive cheer. The publisher's 'Good Games, Good Value' range that will be rolled out to stores between November 19th-26th will no doubt contribute towards the company's uplifting outlook on the predicted performance of Nintendo's popular console.

Anyone for a round of Wii Sports after Christmas dinner?
