Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced that it will be reducing the price of the PlayStation 2 effective from Friday 28th September.
The standard console’s recommended retail price will now be £199.99, a big step down from the already reduced price of £269.99
This move, coming only months after the PlayStation 2’ European launch, should come as a surprise to no one as it mirrors previous Sony behaviour very closely. The original PlayStation dropped to £199 eight months after launch from an original price of £299.99. But, do you remember what else happened?
Sony released the Platinum range! That’s right folks, top quality best-selling game titles at a massively reduced price! Gran Turismo 3 at £19.99 anyone?
Well you can always hope!
