Japanese Video Game Chart: Pokemon KO's K-ON!
Pokemon Black and White still reigns the Japanese Video Game Chart (courtesy Media Create, 27th September - 3rd October 2010) with an Iron Tail, racking up another 370,000+ sales on its third week on store shelves. It's been a very good week for new releases however, with SEGA's K-ON! anime game capturing the hearts of otaku everywhere.

1 Pokemon Black/Pokemon White – Pokemon Company (DS) – 374,859
2 K-ON! After School Live! – SEGA (PSP) – 170,848 / NEW
3 Okamiden – Capcom (DS) – 84,472 / NEW
4 The Legend of Heroes: Zero no Kiseki – Falcom (PSP) – 84,360 / NEW
5 Dead Rising 2 – Capcom (PS3) – 79,695 / NEW
6 Dead Rising 2 – Capcom (360) – 43,800 / NEW
7 Kurohyou: Ryu ga Gotoku Shinshou – SEGA (PSP) – 43,163
8 Wii Party – Nintendo (Wii) – 33,067
9 Starry Sky ~in Summer~ Portable – Asgard (PSP) – 19,264 / NEW
10 Dragon Ball Tag Versus – Namco Bandai (PSP) – 19,080 / NEW

So it's all change for much of the old Top 10 guard. Capcom performs well with Okamiden – the DS sequel to Okami – entering at #3 and both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Dead Rising 2 debuting at #5 and #6 respectively. Domestic RPG legends Falcom has launched its latest adventure, The Legend of Heroes: Zero no Kiseki, to a warm reception at #4.

The only other games still hanging onto the Top 10 from last week are SEGA's Yakuza PSP spinoff and Nintendo's Wii Party. The both manage to beat out a limited edition release of Starry Sky and the new Dragon Ball Tag Versus battle game.

@gingineer

Yeah I also wonder as gaming is so sociably acceptable in Japan, if they ever have any Jack Thompson or Fox News Bullshit over there as the level of maturity in Japanese only games is far superior to Western titles, the fact you can step on to a subway and (not only get groped by loads of men) but also just simply connect up your DS or PSP for some stranger on stranger gaming, 3DS Tag mode is deffo a Japanese Social Concept.
