SEGA Set to Make More Cash Just Not From Games
SEGA Sammy has released an adjustment to what it expects to make - in terms of cash not games - for the year to March 31st 2011. It's looking good.

The company hopes to make ¥37.500 million (£285 million). That is an adjustment from its previous forecast of ¥22,000 million (£167 million).

In an official statement, the company stated, “While the consumer business saw mainly sales of new titles in overseas markets hover at weak volumes, the amusement machine sales business and amusement centre operations business are expected to maintain robust operating results."

In short, video games - not so hot. Arcade revenue, hot.

Typical Sega Sammy. No bloody idea what they are doing, focusing on the tiny japanese arcade market, than the huge global alternative. Absolute crap. I wish MS would just buy them and put them out of their misery.

Hey, Sega made the cool Border Break for arcades recently. Why is it not gracing home consoles, with its on cut? Go figure, (yet even Square can push out Front Mission Evolved. If you hate being here, pack up and leave, Sega. Your financials would be better, if you made more games that we want to buy and play (exceptions made for Platinum Games output), instead of moving them to PSP or not going multiformat (Valkyria Chronicles anyone). I'm sure many of us would have liked a dose of it on 360, but 'No' says the man at Sega, We must be Sony loyal to a fault (cough...joke).

Come on Sega, get with a new program. Success of Bayonetta is pointing a better way forward.
