American Retailers request more GameCubes.

Microsoft makes tactical error.

Posted by Staff
In anticipation of Microsoft messing up the launch of the Xbox, giant American retail chains such as Wal-Mart are turning to Nintendo for extra supplies to fulfil to consumer demand.

Microsoft were predicting between 600,000 and 800,000 consoles would be ready ‘in time’. That figure has diminished to around 300,000.

Xbox delays, limited launch numbers, and Nintendo’s direct competition could prove a devastating blow for Microsoft.

If Nintendo snatch substantial Xbox sales because of Microsoft’s slippage, we imagine heads will roll in Seattle.

The console war takes another interesting twist.
