Published by Ubi Soft, the third episode in the Myst saga has achieved an estimated 300,000 sell-in sales (sales to retailers) throughout Europe.

Released on September 7, the game has topped charts in major European countries such as France and Germany, and has reached second position in the UK, topped only by EA’s Premier League Manager 2002.

Alain Corre, Managing Director at EMEA Territories had was clearly pleased. "We are obviously delighted that Myst III has repeated history, and that as the latest chapter in the Myst series, it continues to capture many imaginations and to seduce people."

Two versions of Myst III were released on launch, a standard edition, and a special edition which included an official strategy guide and a ‘making of’ CD-ROM documentary. Both were equally popular.

The game’s two predecessors, Myst and Riven (Myst II), went on to sell over 10 million copies since 1993, and this third instalment is set to contribute greatly to the Myst franchise.

Congratulations to Presto Studios, the developers, and Ubi Soft on a great game.

Until Myst IV, we’ll see you then.
