UK gamers discovered over the weekend that various supermarkets and indie retailers had begun selling copies of Halo: Reach - three days before its official launch on Tuesday.Rumours started circulating on Saturday, following whispers in the US that the game was actually being sold over the counter a whole week ahead of the 14th September launch.
CVG received confirmation later that day.
Bungie originally stated that all online statistics for the game will be reset come launch day, to avoid any cheeky early players (and reviewers) getting the upper hand on the newbies. Turns out this is no longer the case, as the 'Armoury' was officially reset on Thursday 9th September.
The Hut, Zavvi and GameGears were three retailers named for sending out copies of
Halo: Reach early. Try and grab one - or, you might as well go to the official launch night in London instead tonight.
