At a Microsoft press briefing in Tokyo yesterday, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XIII will be seeing an Xbox 360 release in Japan at long last.Titled
Final Fantasy XIII Ultimate Hits International, it will release on the 16th December with a new Easy Mode to allow new players to grasp the game mechanics a little bit quicker. Producer Yoshinori Kitase revealed that this was implemented to encourage those that got stuck halfway through the PS3 version to retry the game.
The game will also come with a special booklet that details some deleted scenes from the game, along with a brand new epilogue novel.
As for the reason why Square Enix is bothering to release the game after such a long wait - strong sales overseas and a demand from Japanese players is the answer to that one.
