Japanese Gamecube Launch Figures Released
Nintendo of Japan has released details of the launch day sales figures achieved by it’s latest foray into the home console market, the GameCube.
Although precise figures are not yet available, it is estimated that between 280,000 and 300,000 hardware units were snapped up. This is between 60% and 70% of the total number of available machines.
Although the launch was fairly quiet in comparison to recent hardware debuts, Nintendo will surely be happy with these results, considering there are only three games, Wave Race: Blue Storm, Luigi’s Mansion and Super Monkey Ball, available at launch.
