Seems there's no accounting for taste. Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is the best-selling game this week, reaching #1 on the UK all-format software charts. GfK Chart-Track notes that this marks Square Enix's third chart win this year, following Final Fantasy XIII and Just Cause 2.
(NE) - 1 - Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days - (1)
(1) - 2 - Toy Story 3 - (6)
(2) - 3 - Red Dead Redemption - (14)
(4) - 4 - LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 - (9)
(6) - 5 - Just Dance - (38)
(5) - 6 - Art Academy - (3)
(9) - 7 - Super Mario Galaxy 2 - (11)
(19) - 8 - Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands - (14)
(3) - 9 - Dance on Broadway - (8)
(11) - 10 - [i]Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - (25)
Even more impressive is that the original Kane & Lynch: Dead Men peaked at #14 when it was released back in 2007, and that we gave Dog Days an average 55% score.
Toy Story 3 moves down to #2 while Red Dead Redemption drops to #3. Last week's #3, Dance on Broadway, makes a dramatic fall to #9. Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands makes a re-entry into the Top 10, as does Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has also toppled Dr. Kawashima as the biggest-selling game in the UK - ever. It's done this in 41 weeks, or 10 months - Kawashima had 36 months to take the record from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
