Japanese Game Software Charts: Wii Like to Party
The Japanese Software Chart (5th - 11th July 2010, courtesy Media Create) are in, and you can count on a Nintendo title with the word 'Wii' in it to sell like hotcakes. This time it's Wii Party that has taken the country by storm. The debut of a White Knight Chronicles sequel has pushed previous #1, Inazuma Eleven 3, to third place.

1 Wii Party – Nintendo (Wii) – 234,892 / NEW
2 White Knight Chronicles: Awakening of Light and Darkness – SCEJ (PS3) – 175,632 / NEW
3 Inazuma Eleven 3: World Challenge!! Spark / Bomber – Level 5 (DS) – 97,727
4 Harvest Moon: Twin Villages – Marvelous Entertainment (DS) – 63,610 / NEW
5 Taiko Drum Master DS: Dororon! Battle With the Ghouls!! – Namco Bandai (DS) – 30,689
6 Super Mario Galaxy 2 – Nintendo (Wii) – 26,217
7 Crackdown 2 – Microsoft (360) – 14,829 / NEW
8 Tomodachi Collection – Nintendo (DS) – 12,932
9 World Soccer Winning Eleven 2010 – Konami (PS3) – 12,189
10 World Soccer Winning Eleven 2010 – Konami (PSP) – 12,125

(Note: Chart position is first, then game name, publisher, format and sales for this week)

A new Harvest Moon on the Nintendo DS has helped Marvelous claim the #4 spot, while Microsoft enjoys another Top 10 delight with the release of Crackdown 2. Ruffian Games' sandbox adventure game enters the chart at #7 this week.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 still holds strong at #6, while Tomodachi Collection – the friend compilation software that just doesn't die – has re-entered the chart to pop in at #8. Despite the World Cup being over, Konami is doing a good job of keeping both the PS3 and PSP versions of Winning Eleven 2010 in the Top 10.
