Yoichi Wada, president and CEO of Square Enix, has expressed doubt over what direction his company should take the Final Fantasy franchise in.Speaking to
Gamasutra, Wada noted that while
Final Fantasy XIII has sold well, "when it comes to the customers' reaction to the quality of the game, some value it highly and some are not very happy with it."
He went on to question, "Should
Final Fantasy become a new type of the game or should
Final Fantasy not become a new type of game? The customers have different opinions. It's very difficult to determine which way it should go."
Peter Molyneux noted at GameHorizon recently that, because of the relatively small RPG market,
Fable III will lean further into the 'action adventure' category than previous entries in the series. Would you like to see
Final Fantasy do the same? Answers in the comments.
