The video game adaptation of Dmitry Glukhovsky's Metro 2033 was one of the first major titles to bring 3D gaming to the PC. THQ's Danny Bilson has not only announced a sequel in Metro 2034, but has revealed that the team will bring the 3D technology to the living room too.At E3, Bilson said that both
Metro 2033 and
2034 will make up two of the four games from the publisher that will take advantage of 3D.
De Blob 2: The Underground and a version of
Saints Row for the Nintendo 3DS is also planned.
"Some people were confused about why we'd go into a market where there's only one percent [of 3D] TVs," Bilson told
CVG. "It's about a great game and a plus up on the marketing side. We're there at low risk and high quality, but, again, we'll have to see how that market grows and what value is there.
"There will be some engineering costs there, but that's in our lowest cost centre in the world. Those games are unbelievably reasonable, they're built in Kiev."
In more good news for
Metro 2033 owners, the first DLC pack will be with us "in the very near future." It will bring with it new weapons, new achievements and the Ranger Mode.
