Tomonobu Itagaki - formerly of Tecmo's Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden fame - has revealed his new project at E3 this year. It's a bloody, gory third-person shooter called Devil's Third, which will be published by THQ and developed at Itagaki's new studio, Valhalla. And the PlayStation 3 version should come complete with 3D visuals.
Sitting down with VG247 to talk about the game (and moving on from Tecmo a couple of years ago), Itagaki said that his adoption of 3D technology means there's no question of Devil's Third including that capability.
"The PlayStation 3 version is going to support 3D visuals. I myself have a 3D TV in my living room, so there’s no impossibility that it’s in my house," he said. "But to be honest with you, we have to first spec out the power and strength of PS3, and after we do that, we can start talking about it, so I can’t promise anything at this point."
Devil's Third is heading for a release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2012. See the trailer below, and imagine how cool it will look with 3D layers on top (and maybe try to ignore its vague similarity to Wet).
