Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada has clarified his stance about the possibility of Final Fantasy Versus XIII on Xbox 360, after comments saying the publisher was "looking into it" generated a wave of fanboy ire.Following an investors meeting in Tokyo yesterday, the exec was asked whether it would be best to give the
Final Fantasy spinoff - long considered a firm PlayStation 3 exclusive - a multiplatform release. Wada replied, "We'll be looking into it internally until right before the formal announcement [of the game]."
Today, Wada used
Twitter to fend off the rage that ensued across internet forums and chatrooms alike. "It looks like the 'net is heating up.
Versus on Xbox? What I said at the earnings press conference was just that until a formal announcement is made at the announcement time, all points about all titles are not finalized."
So basically, until the game's actually been announced properly, no details should be assumed as 'locked down.' That's not really an assurance that the game won't hit the Xbox 360 in so much as it is a denial that
Versus XIII was ever a PS3 exclusive in the first place.
