Pachter: We Will See Splinter Cell Conviction PS3 in a Year
We'll never see any third-party exclusives "ever again."
Even though Ubisoft strictly put the kibosh on a PS3 version of Splinter Cell: Conviction, there's still one person who believes it'll happen - that man is industry analyst Michael Pachter.
Speaking on weekly video blog Pach-Attack, he predicted that we won't be seeing any third-party console exclusives "ever again" and that Conviction will hit Sony's console within a year.
"You will still get [exclusives] from [first-party] developers, guys like Insomniac... but I don't think you're going to see Ubisoft or Take-Two or Activision do an Xbox 360 or PS3 exclusive ever again because the install base of the two consoles is just too big to ignore." Pachter said.
"They'd be giving up way too much unless Microsoft is willing to pay up," he added, noting that he doesn't believe Microsoft would be willing to pay publishers "what it's going to take to ignore" the PS3.
He also uses the phrase "going forward." Grrrrrr...
