Simulation. It's the future. And Codemasters is saying that its upcoming F1 2010 game will deliver realism by the carload, as Formula One test driver Anthony Davidson reveals it's the "most authentic experience possible."
A developer diary for the game sees Davidson explain the "unique ‘twitchy’ way in which F1 cars handle and how this is translated into authentic gameplay." His experience on the track has been useful for the team at Codies to better represent the physics and nuances of the cars and tracks.
Chief games designer Stephen Hood says that creating an F1 game brings added pressures. "The preference has always been to go down the simulation path. You can make a realistic sim easier to play for somebody but it’s very difficult to take an arcade handling system and make that appeal to people who prefer simulation handling."
