First Doctor Who Interactive Episode is City of the Daleks
The BBC and Sumo Digital have announced that the first episode in Doctor Who: The Adventure Games is City of the Daleks. Yes, it features Daleks in a pretty major way. They've started BIG.

The plot follows the Doctor and his latest companion, Amy, as they land in 1963 London and are a bit surprised and more than a little miffed to find it's become a post-apocalyptic wasteland. The Daleks have been up to a spot of time travel and it's up to you to sort it out.

One of the most exciting prospects for Whovians (and regular Who fans who don't ascribe, let's face it, pretty daft names to themselves) will be visiting the Dalek's home planet Skaro and it's capital. Previously the planet has been largely unseen, consisting primarily of quarries, mist and tunnels where it has turned up.

Sumo has been given the opportunity to realise the setting largely from scratch. Revolution Software's Charles Cecil, who has consulted on the games, pointed out at a press event that when the developers asked for reference or descriptions of the planet, they were told merely that it's "brutal". Sumo took it from there.

Gameplay in The Adventure Games mixes up third person stealth elements, environment based puzzles and mini-games. Matt Smith (the latest Doctor) and Karen Gillan (Amy Pond) have both lent their voices and likenesses to the project.

The first game will be available on June 5th for free. Keep an eye on SPOnG for a Doctor Who: The Adventure Games preview and Charles Cecil interview soon...

If Charles Cecil is involved, suddenly that makes this game a little more interesting.
