TWL overpowers competition with strength in questions and presentation

As Auntie Beeb gears up for the new series of the absolutely massive rudeness-based quiz, The Weakest Link, Activision UK is readying what is likely to be the greatest quiz game ever made.

The first bit of news is that Cyber Anne is about to be unleashed. Activision has rendered a terrifyingly realistic Anne Robinson to host the show. You may remember that ITV’s quiz game Who Wants to be a Millionaire? lacked a cyber Chris Tarrant.

Anne says “You can play this game on your own or with your friends and family and, as up to seven people can play at once, it’s a real sociable event. Now everyone can have the chance to find out which one of their friends or members of their families are The Weakest Link and make them take the Walk of Shame.” We are, absolutely positive that Anne said this spontaneously and without the aid of a script.

The game looks to be shaping up nicely, with Activision reporting that some of the more obscure bugs in the game engine have been rooted out. Activision is also confident in fending off the next instalment of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? which is looking more and more like a quick Christmas cash-in by the day. WWTBAM had 1,000 questions included in the initial release. TWL will have a whopping 100,000, giving the game 100 times the ‘play life’. The development team has also promised that the gameplay pace will be reflective of the TV show, with up to seven players able to fend off Anne’s questions simultaneously. This is a bit of a comedown from the nine previously promised, but shouldn’t detract from the experience.

The Weakest Link will hit UK shelves on 28th of September for PlayStation 2, Psone and PC.
